Most of us have seen this phone already for the past week, and especially when Engadget got its hands on the phone today. The Nexus One does not differ much from other form factors of Android equipped phones we have seen up to this point. While there is no HTC mark on it, the phone appears to be from HTC and matches the form factor and build quality of their other handsets. The hardware remains a mystery as to the exact specs, but the Android 2.1 equipped Nexus One adds some tasty treats to the OS itself. The app tray now benefits from 3D elements while there is a new added "Grid view" that allows you to see all home screen elements at once. You also get more home screens for your shortcuts and widgets.

We did a browser comparison a while back with the Pre and HTC Hero. SInce then we have had a few comments that we should turn off flash and then compare it t the iPhone 3GS. Since we no longer have the Hero, I decided to do a comparison of the stock android browser and Opera mini to the iPhone 3GS Safari browser. See the video after the jump:

Prior to today the only version of Android that would run the newest version of Google maps with turn-by turn directions was version 2.0. If you are one of those Android users who is holding out for a 2.0 update for this great feature, your wait is over. Assuming you have upgraded to Android 1.6 already, you can simply head to the Android Market and download the updated google maps. Now you have the killer app that all iPhone users would love, or at least I would. Let us know how well it works if you would be so kind.
