  Seagate today, announced they have expanded or made over their hard drive lineup.  Their new flagship model is a 3.5 inch, 1.5TB running at 7200RPM called the FreeAgent XTreme.  The connectivity options allow USB 2.0, Firewire 400 as well as eSATA.  If you are using eSATA you can transfer files at up to 3GB per second. The drives are coming to retail in October and start at $160 for 500GB up to $300 for the 1.5TB.  

  According to the picture, Verizon is set to release something new tomorrow.  We think it could be the new Blackberry Storm just like the picture sort of suggests or maybe something new?  With the time it takes Verizon to release its hardware to their standards we assume it is definitely just as we though.  How interesting the Storm could be released with Ike ravaging the nation.

  The use of the once military drones has been turned into a tool to aid those in need within Africa’s remote regions.  The idea is that the drones would be launched from clinics carrying blood samples which in turn could be used to aid with serum for snake bites or medicine.  The drones would be launched from clinics and pilot themselves along a pre-programmed route to the nearest lab, using GPS and microelectronic gyroscopes to guide them.  They in turn could return what the clinics need and deliver it to them when they are hours away via land travel.  Great idea and as long as the cost is minimal this could be used in great numbers to benefit a lot of needy people.

  This past week gave us the release of the new iPod Nano and here we have it.  We plan to go into detail this coming week, I have been using it for a few days and wanted to get a good handle on its practicality and every day use.

  The HTC Touch Diamond is now available thru Sprint at the reasonable price of $249.00 with a 2 year agreement and after a $200 instant savings and $100 mail-in rebate.  The HTC Touch Diamond comes with 4GB memory and runs Windows Mobile, but with HTC’s own TouchFlo 3D Interface.  The phone also has WiFi, a 3.2 megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, GPS, and EV-DO Rev A.  So if you are looking for a nice alternative to the iPhone and have Sprint, this phone may be perfect for you.
