Later this month Microsoft will hold its professional developers conference where they will give users a peek at Windows 7, but the other thing they will do is unveil "Windows Cloud". This is a new operating system for cloud computing and has been given the temporary name of "Windows Cloud" by Steve Ballmer.

Microsoft is really trying to get people to use their search on Live.com. This time they have come up with a way to pay you using point that you can then later redeem for prizes. You install a tracker on your PC and once you search you start earning points. Microsoft has capped the search points you can earn to 25 per day. Some of the prizes are an Xbox controller, music downloads and airline miles. You can also search within hotmail or use msn as well to earn points. Not a bad deal just for searching using their service.

StumbleUpon will be launching a new install-less toolbar for those of its community to use. The idea was brought forth because the trouble of installing a toolbar has deterred users from Stumbling. With the new Stumble you will be able to visit a site directly from their site and then via a web toolbar you will be able to stumble just as before.

If a ruling passes this week it could force music sellers to pay publishers more money. The increase would be from 9 cents to 15 cents, and although that does not seem like much, when put in perspective it is quite the chunk of change. The millions sold every day make this number a great one and a threat to the cost we pay and Apple pays to their publishers.
