Android is now available via the T-Mobile G1 which is for sale as of today. You can go get them while they last for $179.99 with a 2 year service contract. While this is still no iPhone, it is a worthy competitor in that it can basically do everything the iPhone can and more, due to its open source operating system, but lacks the refinement of some upscale phones. The G1 and Android offer some interesting possibilities and does not have filtered apps like that of the iPhone. We can’t wait to see what is done with Android as it matures and acquires refinement.

Apple has sold 6.9 million iPhones in just the 4th financial quarter says Apple via its earning report today. Apple also said they are set to sell their 200 millionth app. Yeah 200 million, which is crazy seeing how the App store has only been with us for under 6 months.

The thought of turning solar energy from space into electricity and beaming it back to earth goes back to the days of Sim City 2000. This technology could be in a our near future as scientists now think this possible with current technology. Scientists believe that satellites rotating around the earth could beam down 5-10 gigawatts of continuous, renewable energy. Mr. Bova in a recent article with the Washington Post believes just one of these satellites could power all of California.
