Thanks for the review! I love the full body invisible shield on my 4s, but definitely want to check this out. The only thing for me is that since I only use a border, not a case, I like the extra grip that comes with my current invisible shield. Less likely to drop it. I would imagine that the HD one has a glossier and slicker feel to it…?
I purchased an invisibleshield hd about 2 months ago to protect my iPhone and I’m not sure if this is just what happens with all of these screen protectors, or just with mine. But after two months of careful use with the phone, the screen protector is getting waves in it and not looking as smooth as it did when i first put it on. I thought it was supposed to be a “self healing” material yet if i intentionally scratch the screen with moderate pressure from my fingernail, the impression doesn’t ever go away. I was wondering if anyone else is having these troubles? I guess I have a lifetime warranty to fall back on even if the product is not defective.
Would you recommend the HD version of the Invisible Shield or the regular version of the Zagg Invisible Shield for the New Ipad? I have never seen the HD version, but have a 3 year old “regular” Invisishield on my phone. Any thoughts with that big brand new Retina Display?
Wow… this product is NOT of a good, lasting quality. I purchased it from a authorized Zagg dealer/installer in the Brandon Town Center Mall, in Brandon (Tampa), Florida. I know the product has a 45 money back guarantee, but bought it Oct (mid) and that would end in Jan… yes, there is a lifetime replacement of product, but NOT installation cost (by them)…
PROBLEM: The product, within 3-5 months, has pealed up on ALL sides, will NOT restick/adhere down to glass (speaking of back only, I have Power Supports anti-glare on front and LOVE it) it has stretched, and plain and simply sucks… so WHY would I want another FREE one, that won’t last more than 3-5 months?!? Ripping it off, and replacing with Power Support’s crystal BACK film, they sell on their site (not in Apple)… only 13.00 for TWO.
SAFE YOUR MONEY… don’t buy this product, go right to Power Supports Site, I’ve had ALL of the iPhones (since they came out) and NEVER had any troubles with their product, ever… and now that they make the back, I’m SO getting theirs and can assure you I won’t have to replace it in 3-5 months!
The product is great. Has the same protection value (from scratches, etc.) as the regular invisible shield, but doesn’t have the dimpling affect that is seen on the regular invisible shields (You get used to the dimples though). Has a different “feel” as well, with the HD feeling more like the actual phone, rather than a rubberized version of it. This may be a good thing, but may also lessen your grip on the phone as pointed out above.
Of course, this isn’t a case for the phone. That is, if you drop it, the screen protector will not help much, save preventing a few scratches here and there. Certain kinds of cases work well with the invisible shield, while others may actually ruin it. Bumper style cases, that assemble in two pieces (e.g. with screws or snaps) will not interfere with the screen protector, while the rubbery cases that need to be pulled over the phone may actually cause the protector to peel off. If this happens, you will get a gradual peeling back of the screen protector as dirt, lint, epithelial cells get trapped under it and interfere with the adhesive capabilities. An added benefit to two part cases it that they often overlap with the invisibile shield and prevent this from occurring. Doing this may have preventing JohhyAYQ’s screen protector from peeling back.
Lastly, take care when you are installing any of the invisible shield products. While it is relatively simple to do some precautions will ensure that your screen protector doesn’t peel off or look like crap. Work in a clean, and relatively dust free area (e.g. not outside, not in the basement). There’s nothing more aggravating than installing a fresh invisible shield and seeing little specs of dust under the cover. Also wash your hands before installing to avoid the same problem as well as fingerprints. For larger screens or gadgets (e.g. iPad or laptop, it helps to have a second person to help spray the application solution, so that the other one can hold the screen protector to avoid it sticking to itself.
The shield bubbled & wrinkled and fell off even though it had been expertly installed at Verizon. Since it had a lifetime warranty, I took if to the Zagg store to have it replaced. They didn’t have any for an iphone 4s (one way to avoid warranty claims). And even if you have your original receipt and package, you can’t get it replaced unless you picked up that old film from the gutter and presented it. You can apparently order them online but the “free” replacement will cost you $5 for them to mail that thin piece of plastic.
I have the Invisible Shield HD on my iPad an it’s outstanding. Planning on picking one up for my iPhone soon as well.
I bought a Zagg InivisibleSHIELD HD. It’s wonderful, it only peels because you have to clean your phone prior to installation and let it dry for at least 12-24 hours. Also, the instructions clearly state “do not stretch”. By doing so the plastic will “warp”.
Nice shield but…. I bought at Best Buy and paid to have them do the install. Worth the extra cost from what I’ve read. Found out when I got it home you can’t register the product for the warranty though because it’s not yet on the Zagg’s product list on their web site. Bone head company. The warranty is why you’re paying the premium price so for that reason I can’t recommend the product. One star.
After having one replaced as it stretched and was defective, easily, attempted to install the replacement, disaster! These covers stretch before you can apply them and there is definetly not enough spray to install them correctly. I have wasted my $$, thrown my cover in the trash and will never buy another ZAGG product.
I have no clue what everyone else is referring to. I’ve had mine on my iPhone for one year and I can’t imagine not having it. The best part is having no fingerprints on my phone. I installed it myself – I don’t know why anyone would pay to have it installed. It’s designed to be installed by the consumer. I followed the instructions carefully, so maybe others aren’t. There is definitely enough spray stuff, they would obviously make sure that the average consumer can get this on their product. I actually kept all the installation stuff. Recently at the bottom of my iPhone where the home button is has been peeling. I used some spray and the squigee and actually improved it substantially. Still, I ordered a replacement, but am worried about shipping costs to Canada. I also like how you don’t need your original receipt or anything. To whoever complained about needing the old ruined shield, seems like common sense one would need it or otherwise a person could use their receipt to get a new one, possibly for someone else, as their own original shield would be fine.
There’s nothing bad about the product except that I have slight peeling at the bottom after a year use. But that’s what the warranty guarantee is for. Shipping fees suck but countries outside the US, well, a company could only offer so much shipping coverage before the numbers get messy.
Great product overall and just bought one as a present for my brother. First decided to buy one for myself after seeing a friend’s phone with such clarity and no finger prints on the screen.
