For quite some time I wasn’t convinced by the whole VR thing. This mainly comes by way of disappointment over disappointment in the past. Years ago there were promises of Virtual Reality that when realized was either tens of thousands of dollars or just too large to put in a room in your average house. Enter Oculus and the Rift; after beginning life as a kickstarter project that had wild success and then bought by Facebook, we now have home VR. The Oculus Rift is the first iteration of truly amazing Virtual Reality for the home. There are competitors out there and arguments for each and which is better, but the Oculus Rift cost less and requires less room and setup.
For years I really didn’t have a reason to build a PC, but now that VR is becoming more of a reality, it was time. After building a powerful PC (video to come later), I needed something to run on it and having found an Oculus Rift at the local Best Buy, I had found that something.
In this video I unbox and show you what comes with the $599 you pay for the Oculus Rift. More videos to follow…
