Remember when you thought that Apple selling about a Billion apps in one year was a lot? Well the bar has been raised slightly. Since the September 28th milestone of 1 Billion apps, Apple has now sold 3 Billion apps total. Yes, you read correctly, 3 Billion apps. There are only about 6 Billion people in the world and we know half the world does not have an iPhone yet, so how many apps a day do you download? Statistically speaking though, to download 2 Billion apps in just 98 days means 30,612,244 apps per day, 1,275,510 per hour, 121,043 per minute, 350 every second. Apple’s App Store Downloads Top Three Billion
CUPERTINO, Calif., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Apple® today announced that more than three billion apps have been downloaded from its revolutionary App Store by iPhone® and iPod touch® users worldwide.

Imagine the bandwidth bill Apple is fronting for all of this downloading. It appears that 30% profit they make on apps is being put to good use.
