Burj Khalifa Opens; The Worlds Tallest Building
The Burj Khalifa, formerly the Burj Dubai is now open. Soaring into the skies at 2,717 feet or 828 meters, the newly named Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world. The name was changed at the last minute in honor of the president of Abu Dhabi, Sheik Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for their 10 billion dollar bailout of the near-bankrupt Dubai. The internal space occupies 6 million square feet with 54 elevators that are capable of 40mph each. At the top you can see out as far as 60 miles in any given direction. The closest building in height is Tapei 101 at 1670 feet, more than 1000 less than the new record.

WebOS 1.3.5 Update Now Available For Your Palm Pre and Pixi
There were some rumblings from various sites today that WebOS1.3.5 may be coming today. The update is here and is being pushed to your device as we type this. The update comes in at just 13MB, but has some significat fixes for those of you using WebOS.
- App limit fixed.
- App Catalog downloads continue even after leaving the app’s page.
- App purchases have been expanded to US territories (sorry Europe, Canada, etc).
- Switching between days in Calendar is now faster.
- Sprint Navigation can be launched from a Contact.
- Palm Profile app restores happen in the background, letting the user get to the phone faster.
- Future webOS updates can be downloaded over 2G wireless (1xRTT).
- Notifications now work in landscape mode (which has strangely lost the rounded corners).
- Improvement in battery life optimization when in marginal coverage areas.
- QCELP capability fix to allow play and audio of video sent via MMS.
- Launch Google Maps or Sprint Nav when tapping an address from contacts.
- Minimized package of MR size through binary difference. Customers can now download over 2G connections if necessary.
This will probably be the last update before any new announcements by Palm at the upcoming CES Expo in Las Vegas shortly. An interesting tidbit to note is that some who have scoured over the code have found pengles.ipk and opengles-omap3.ipk, which are what you need to get GPU acceleration running. Happy updating!
New iMacs, Mac Mini November 10th, New Mac Pros at MacWorld Rumor
UPDATE: “Our holiday line-up is set,” Apple spokesman Bill Evans told Macworld.
We have some new rumors surrounding Apple and what they intend to do in the near future. Dennis Sellers of Macsimum News has said that November 10th is the date of the iMac refresh of which is just expected a bump in specs and display power. The other interesting refresh comes in the way of a new Mac Mini. We have heard there would be a refresh, then it was put in the trash bin and now it comes back refreshed on the same date as the iMac. The other tidbit is about a new Mac Pro coming at this years MacWorld Expo. The Mac Pro is up on specs right now, but lacks the most current hardware and the new "Display Port" for the new cinema display line which makes this a very plausable rumor.
If you take all of this information into consideration, it is likely for Apple to do a stealth refresh of the iMac and Mac Mini and keep the Pro for MacWorld. The interesting part is this would leave Apple with a huge hole to fill when it comes to their current Mac and refreshes for MacWorld in January. Is a tablet coming? according to Stve Jobs, no. We think there has to be something up their sleeve and we’ll just have to sit back and wait for the reveal.
